Lux Level Sensor

The ms 020s o and ml 020s i illuminance sensors are both all weather sensors having customized detector sensitivities for either indoor low light level or outdoors high light level applications.

Hotel guest room comfort control. Lux light level adjustment. In photometry this is used as a measure of the intensity as perceived by the human eye of light that hits or passes through a surface. The light level adjustment controls the amount of natural light that starts operations and stops the motion sensor light from triggering when the sun is up.

Your motion sensor light will come preset to activate when it detects dusk and to deactivate when it detects dawn. The sensors are typically used to monitor external lighting levels to optimise energy efficiency through dimming and or disabling lights as required. This is a nice simple non dimmable pir sensor available in an ip20 recessed version or an ip44 surface mount version.

Lx is the si derived unit of illuminance measuring luminous flux per unit area. As well as motion detection the sensor allows light level control which will operate from total darkness up to 65 000 lux. It is equal to one lumen per square metre. The external light level sensors return a linear 0 10vdc signal representing the lux level at the photo diode cell based on the selectable lux levels.

It is analogous to the radiometric unit watt per square metre but with the power at each wavelength weighted.
